Privacy notice
What the OncoAlert Network does with the details you give us on this website: newsletter sign-ups, messages, and what the site itself records.
Last updated
This notice explains what the OncoAlert Network (“OncoAlert”, “we”) does with the details you give us on this website. OncoAlert is a non-profit organization. For any question about your details, write to OncoAlertNetwork@OncoAlert360.com.
What we ask for
- To subscribe to The OncoAlert Newsletter: your email address, your role (for example medical oncologist or cancer nurse) and your country.
- To write to us through the contact form: your name, your email address and your message.
Nothing else is asked for, and you need no account to read the site.
What we use it for
We use your email address to send you the newsletter, and your role and country to know who our readers are. We use a message and its details to answer it. We use your details for nothing else.
How it reaches us
The website is hosted by Netlify. When you send a form, Netlify checks it for spam with Akismet, keeps it in our Netlify account with the technical details any web form records (your IP address, your browser and the page you sent it from), and emails it to us at OncoAlertNetwork@OncoAlert360.com. Our team then adds newsletter subscribers to our mailing list on Moosend, the service that sends the newsletter.
Who else sees it
Only the services that run the website and the newsletter: Netlify (the website and its forms), Akismet (Netlify’s spam check) and Moosend (sending the newsletter). These services may store details outside your country, and each has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your details, and we do not give them to sponsors or partners.
The newsletter
Every issue has a link to unsubscribe. Like most newsletter services, Moosend can record when an issue is opened and which of its links are clicked.
Videos
Videos on the site play from YouTube and Vimeo. Their players load only when you press play: YouTube then plays in its privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo with tracking turned off, and the provider’s own privacy policy applies. Some pages show a video’s picture straight from YouTube’s image server, which, like any website, receives your IP address when it sends the picture.
Cookies and your device
The site uses no analytics and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. To mark what is new on a congress page since your last visit, it keeps the time of that visit in your browser, on your device only; it is never sent to us.
How long we keep it
Sign-ups and messages stay in our Netlify account and in our inbox until we delete them. We keep your newsletter details while you are subscribed. To have your details deleted, write to us.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct them or to delete them, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing. Write to OncoAlertNetwork@OncoAlert360.com. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
